Hair Stories at the Horniman Museum
London is full of places you can while away a few hours, feast your eyes and enrich your mind and that of little ones. The Horminan Museum and Gardens in South London is one such place and it was a big hit with the A-Team, both the grown-ups and the little people.
We popped in to see the Hair : Untold Stories exhibition, which was very enlightening and rich in history. Particularly loved finding out more about Winifed Atwell.
We ended up staying for the music, the fish and a wander around the main hall. The exhibition itself is free and open till 19th June 2022. Well worth the day out and a big thumbs up from us.
Personally, I also loved this collection of images by Nancy Stanfield, taken in Nigeria during the 60’s. They can be found in the upstairs gallery and they form part of the Intimate Archives display. It evoked all my emotions around the magic of Black women in community and conversation.
